Card Folds, Clean & Simple, Quick & Easy, Encouragement

Here For You Z Fold, Stitched Triangles, Color & Contour

Today’s card combines several carry over and retiring items from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. It’s a clean and simple card, but packs a wow with the embossing and card fold.

It’s a white on white card with a pop of color. The flowers in this set are so much fun to play with as well as its coordinating dies, Scalloped Contours Dies. Thankfully this set is a carryover and will continue in the new catalog. The top two embossing folders on this card – Hammered Metal and Painted Texture will also be returning.

So what’s retiring? The Ornate Floral 3D folder is retiring and so is the Stitched Triangle dies which I cut these from. The Stitched Triangle dies come with 19 dies – 3 sets of different style triangles, a border, a pennant and a die for added accent.

How To Create The Z Card Fold

Z card folds are one of the simplest folds, but it’s an unexpected surprise as the recipient opens it in a non-traditional way. There are many variations to creating a Z Fold, but the main concept is that when you score and fold, it looks like some form of a Z.

To create the fold on this card, cut a Basic White cardstock at 3-3/4″ x 11″ scored at 5″ and 10″ and cut two 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ from thick Basic White cardstock. These two pieces are your front and back.

Adhere the 1″ section to the bottom back of the your front cardstock. Adhere the 3-3/4″ x 5″ section to the front of your back cardstock. Your folds are as follows: the 1″ section is a mountain fold and the middle section is a valley fold.
