First Card Details

The flower on my first card looks like I did some paper piecing, but I didn’t.

  • To make my patterned flower, I used the images from two of the squares from the stamp set. I began by die cutting 3 floral squares out of white cardstock. On the first square, I stamped the flower with the small circles image using Balmy Blue ink. On the 2nd white die cut, I stamped the leaves with Granny Apple Green with the wavy lines image.
  • With my scissors, I snipped the flower and the leaves and glued it onto the 3rd white floral square which got mounted onto a 1-7/8″ Balmy Blue square.
  • To finish off the flower, I added a small gem in the middle.
  • Card base is Balmy Blue 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
  • Balmy Blue cardstock was die cut with the curved Basic Borders dies. The circles image was stamped with Balmy Blue. I stamped it 3 times as you can tell from the lines. Next time, I’ll make sure the overlapping is not as noticeable.
  • A 1″x 5-1/4″ Balmy Blue strip was embossed with the Checks & Dots embossing folder.
  • Sentiment was stamped with Memento Black ink.

Second Card Details

My second card is a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ card.

  • All 4 images were stamped on 2″ Melon Mambo cardstock with the same color ink.
  • I adhered the top left and bottom right squares with dimensionals to the So Saffron card base. The other two squares were adhered directly to the card base.
  • Sentiments were stamped with Melon Mamb ink onto So Saffron tags. They were adhered onto the squares with dimensionals.
  • Using the Dark So Saffron stampin’ blends, I colored the white crinkled ribbon to match my card base. Changing the color of a ribbon or rhinestone jewels is easy with stampin’ blends.
  • A small piece of linen thread was tied to the ribbon.

It is nice that there are square dies. Otherwise, the squares don’t line up for me. I love the colors used, too.
