Today’s card is a free stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog and is called Awesome Otters. The set consists of 3 otters, a party hat and 2 sentiments.
I made this card for my two year old grandson whose birthday is on New Year’s Eve. Poor guy, I totally forgot to make his card with all the busyness of Christmas. As I was driving home from a family gathering, I remembered this set and thought it was perfect for him. The card came together quickly. Thank goodness because his birthday celebration was the next morning and I had limited time. I’m happy with the way it turned out.
Card Details
- For my card base, I used Balmy Blue cardstock cut at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″.
- I die cut the Pacific Point and White Cardstock with the Layering Diorama dies.
- The otter in the center was stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with light & dark Cinnamon Cider blends. The ripples in the water were highlighted with Balmy Blue blends and the splashes with the chalk marker, white gel pen and wink of stella.
- White cardstock was stamped with one of the images from the Artistically Inked stamp to give it a water feel.
- The otter with the birthday hat was also stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with light & dark Cinnamon blends and the party hat colored with Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade stampin’ blends. The otter and hat were fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.
- I stamped the sentiments with Memento Black. I noticed when I stamped the birthday sentiment, that it was too light so to make my bottom sentiment darker, I used my stamparatus.. It’s perfect for this type of situation.
