Basket of Blooms – Sweet Friendship Refreshes

The Basket of Blooms stamp is the focus of today’s card combined with the Prized Peony stamp for the sweet friendship greeting.

Basket of Blooms - Friendship

Unlike yesterday’s quick card, this card is a bit more detailed. There’s some dry embossing, coloring, die cutting, and masking. The stamp includes 14 photopolymer images that consist of a clay pot, basket, vase, flowers and leaves. Although the stamp doesn’t have any dies, it coordinates with the small bloom punch.

Masking Technique

The masking I did was done with the clay pot and woven basket. When masking, you need to remember that whatever image you want in the front is the one you stamp first. In this card, I wanted the basket in front of the pot so I stamped it and then masked it. The way to mask is by taking a post it note or any scrap paper with light tackiness to it and stamp the same image on it. After stamping it on the post it note, fussy cut around the image and place it over your front image to hide it so it won’t get inked with another image. With the post it note over your front image, stamp your second image next to it. Remove your mask and you will see that the 2nd image, (the pot in my card) is behind the basket. If I wanted to add a third pot, then I would have to mask the basket and 1st pot and then stamp my 2nd pot.
