Game On, Swirly Frames – It’s All About the Color

Hello Crafters! Today I’m sharing with you two cards that feature the Game On & Swirly Frames stamps. Both cards are identical except for the colors – one has manly colors and the other girly colors.

Game On

Remember in yesterday’s post how I used the circles from the Swirly stamps? Today we’ll look at the stitched lines from the same set. Notice the lines in between each colored cardstock?

I adhered the cardstock first and then stamped the lines in between. It all started with wanting to use strips of cardstock. After I adhered the strips, I just felt it needed something to tie it together so I took out my categorized binder and looked for some image I could put in between and this was just the right size. I’m so thankful for my binders – it saves me a lot of time!

The Girly Look

Game On Female Version

I liked the first card and since I made it for someone and was going to give it away, I thought I would make a second one that was a female version with brighter colors and a few minor variations. Unlike the first card, I stamped on a few of the strips with VersaMark for the tone on tone look. I also added the Artistry Blooms sequins. To give both cards a shiny look on the playing cards, I embossed it with clear embossing powder after stamping them with Gray Granite (1st one) and this one with Flirty Flamingo. Remember you can emboss with any Stampin’ Up! ink color. The ink stays wet long enough for you to sprinkle the embossing powder and then melt it with the heat tool. You do have to be quick so have your embossing powder ready.

Cards are all about the colors. You can make several cards that have the same design and when you change the colors, it will give it a fresh and different look. Try it next time you make a card.

Which color scheme do you like best? Let me know by leaving me a comment.

Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .
