Create a Scene With the New Uniquely Artistic Stamp

Have you ever gotten a stamp and not sure what to do with it? Once you use it in what seems obvious, now what? There are a couple of things I do when I’m stuck and not sure what else to do. First, as I’ve mentioned in another post, I stamp all my images in my binder when I get a new stamp. Besides categorizing them, this helps me see what it looks like, especially if it’s a two step stamp. Second, I look at the stamp set in different directions, turning it to the side or upside down. Third, I look to see if I can create any scenes with it.

When I received this set from Stampin’ Up! during a recent demonstrator event, I created two cards. You can see the first card here. I wanted to create a third card, but I wasn’t sure how else to use it and couldn’t get past the flowers and leaves. I looked at each image in the set and couldn’t figure out what the spiky image was for – the one next to the leaves in picture below. Time to explore. . .

After I stamped the image randomly, it started to look like a shrub so I added ‘flower buds’.

Card Details

I stamped the fill in image a couple of times for the leaves on a scrap of paper and somehow it looked like I could use it for “grass”. That got me thinking about using it for “clouds” as well. Everything then came together for this card as a result of playing with the stamps and seeing it in a different light.

The Uniquely Artistic Stamp is in the 2022-2023 Annual catalog.

Here are the details for this card:

  • Card Base – Thick Basic White cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
  • Night of Navy Card Layer – 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
  • Basic White cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Flower stems from the retiring Daisy Lane were stamped in Mossy Meadow ink
  • Bush and sentiments were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink
  • Leaves and grass were stamped off with Old Olive in some areas
  • Soft Sea Foam ink was used to sponge shrub
  • Highland Heather ink for flowers – used the small leaf outline image multiple times to create the petals.
  • Balmy Blue ink for small shrub flowers and sky
  • Embellishments used to complete the card: Elegant Trim and Pebbles Enamel Shapes.

Stamping is about exploring that leads to creativity. Look at your stamps and try to see beyond what’s there.

Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .
