Saying Goodbye to Lovely As A Tree

Hi Crafty Friends . . .

Did you know that Lovely as a Tree has been around since 2001? It is the oldest stamp set in our current catalog. Every year when a new catalog comes around we wonder if it’s retiring, yet it has been so popular that it made it through 18 years. Now that’s a long time! But, the time has come to say goodbye to this go to nature stamp that can be used for many occasions.

Lovely As A Tree

For my first card, I needed a Spanish sympathy sentiment so I typed one on my computer and printed it onto my cardstock. The background is from the Tree Rings background stamp (retiring). Look at the tree…isn’t it ‘lovely’ – nice and full. I stamped it on watercolor paper with Archival Black ink and colored in the green with an aqua painter to give it the full look.

For my second card, I incorporated the Faux layer technique and stamped the leaves on the side. I inked up the tree with my markers directly onto the stamp.

For the third card, I stamped another tree image from the set with Stazon ink and sponged around them.

Once again I used this tree image for my fourth card. You can read about it here.
