I absolutely love coneflowers whether they’re real or stamped. I’ve attempted a few times to grow them in my garden, however, the rabbits seem to enjoy them quite a bit, so I don’t get to see them bloom!
The brick & mortar embossed cardstock really makes this bouquet of coneflowers pop.
Stamp or Die Cut First?
When you need to die cut an image – do you stamp the image first and then die cut or vice versa? Usually I stamp the image and then die cut, however, I find that for some images it’s faster and easier to die cut as many as I think I need and then stamp. That’s what I did with this card. I die cut four sets of flowers out of white cardstock and then stamped and colored.
Die cutting first and then stamping depends on the image and sentiment – some are easier than others. Photopolymer sentiments are easy to line up on a die cut. When you’re mass producing, I find that die cutting first saves you time. How many times have you stamped and colored and then when you die cut, the image is not perfectly aligned. Perhaps you didn’t notice when you placed it on the plate, or your image slipped while cranking your cutting machine. Either way, now you have to start all over again. Next time you need to die cut, try it both ways and discover which way you prefer – you may be surprised.
