Today’s card focuses on the Simply Marbelous 6″ x 6″ DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. If you read yesterday’s post, I listed a few ways you can use patterned paper when creating your cards. One of the ways was using strips diagonally.
Another way to use the Designer Series Paper is to emboss it. In another post, I will show you a card with this technique.
The Simply Marbelous DSP is double sided. Each side has a different color and design. The colors that are in this pack are Balmy Blue/Misty Moonlight, Coastal Cabana/Pool Party, Basic Gray/Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride/Flirty Flamingo, Bumblebee/So Saffron, and Gorgeous Grape/Highland Heather.
I used six of the colors in the pack from top to bottom they are: Pool Party, Bumblebee, Blushing Bridge, Misty Moonlight, Smoky Slate and Gorgeous Grape.
Card Details
- Card base is thick basic white cardstock cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
- Each strip was cut at 3/4″ x 6″ at an angle. I alternated with the marble look and artistic marble look.
- Once all the paper was glued down, the excess was trimmed off.
- Sentiment from Peaceful Moments stamp was stamped with Memento Black ink.
- A couple of 2021-2023 In Color Jewels were added.
A much bolder sentiment would’ve looked better, but I didn’t have anything bold that would fit in that space. If I had a bold word die, I could’ve added it in that space or added another strip and added the sentiment over the DSP. In spite of not having the font I prefer, I still like the way it turned out.
Though this card is a vertical one, you can do the same on a horizontal card.
What do you think of the Simply Marbelous paper?
Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .
