Special Moments with Calming Camellia – With Sympathy

The Calming Camellia Sale-A-Bration stamp set is so pretty. It’s a host stamp so when I placed my order, I earned it with my Stampin’ Rewards (You can, too!). Personally when I saw it I wasn’t excited about the images, but since it was free I I added it to my order. I played around with it yesterday and decided to color the image instead of leaving as is. I have to say, I absolutely love it! It just comes to life – don’t you think?

There’s something about a white card base and keeping it simple. I’m on a clean and simple kick right now. Check out this card. Through the years, I’ve been trying to figure what type of cards I like best. I pretty much like all types but I’ve noticed that I’ve been gravitating more towards the white card base with color on the front like today’s card.

Card Details

  • Card Base – White Thick cardstock 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
  • 3/4″ x 4-1/4″ scallop strip from Penned Flower Dies
  • Image was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink. The image was colored with watercolor pencils as follows: leaves with Old Olive, stem with Early Espresso, flowers with white and stamen with Crushed Curry. Even though I stamped the image on white cardstock and the flower was already white, I wanted it to stand out more so I used the watercolor pencil.
  • The sentiment from Special Moments was stamped with Memento Black ink.
  • Iridescent jewels completed the card.

Misty Moonlight is a pretty color, but unfortunately, it’s retiring in May because it’s part of the 2020-2022 In Colors. It will be replaced with new In Colors, so don’t forget to order your refill ink if you have the ink pad. This way you can continue using your inkpad in the future.

What type of card maker are you? Do you like lots of layers or just a few? Clean & Simple? Shabby Chic? Vintage looking cards? Colored card base or white? Do you like lots of embellishments or none?

I would love to know your style preference. Would you consider leaving me a comment?

Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .
