Welcome back! Today we’ll look at a simple card with more new products.
Did you notice the Flowering Fields Suite on page 15 of the 2022 January – June catalog or the card in the front of the catalog? I love those dies! The whole suite is nice. In case you’re not sure what a suite consists of, read this post where I explained it.
When I started creating this card, I was going to use different colors so I stamped the top portion with Daffodil Delight ink and then stamped again with Blackberry Bliss. As I was stamping, it reminded me of a lavender field my family visited in San Juan Islands in Washington so I changed the color and turned it into rows of lavender. I know these are tulips but that’s the fun in stamping, you can imagine and make anything you like in any color.
What do you think – am I stretching this lavender idea too far?
Flowering Fields Suite
This suite consists of:
- Flowering Tulips stamp
- Tulips Dies
- Tulip Fields stamp
- Windmill Fields Dies
- Evening Evergreen Windowpane Check ribbon
- Brushed Brass Butterflies
- Flowering Fields DSP
Tulips again? Perhaps you already have the Timeless Tulips on page 38 in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, should you get this one as well? It’s really up to you, but personally, I don’t think so unless you like the sentiments in this set or the type of tulips. I would, however, get the coordinating dies. You can use it without the stamps and make 3D tulips and use the other dies which includes the border tulips. If you choose to get the Flowering Tulips and already have the Timeless Tulips, then imagine all the different tulips you can make. Create a box full of them. I would definitely get the Tulip Fields stamp because it’s different.
There is so much to explore with this suite. I can’t wait to use the windmill die and tulip border die. If you choose to get the windmill fields die, don’t forget to get some brads so that the blades can spin.
If you don’t want the whole suite, just order each product you like individually with the corresponding product number.
Card Details & How To Stamp Tulip Fields
I was in the middle of Christmas preparations and needed to make a quick card and this fit the bill. Here are the details:
- Card base – Gorgeous Grape cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
- Card layer – Highland Heather 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
- White Cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Double triangle stamped with Daffodil Delight & Blackberry Bliss
- Triangle “tree shape like” stamped alternating between Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather inks
- Tree stamped with Old Olive ink
- Sentiment stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink
- Bicycle die cut with Daffodil Delight cardstock
- Added an In color jewel to each of the bike wheels; mounted with mini dimensionals
To get your rows even, start with the long double triangle and make sure it’s straight. You can use the grid paper for alignment. I started mine off center on the cardstock but you can start by centering the double triangle in the middle of cardstock. Then stamp the triangle tree-like image right in the middle of the double long triangle. Stamp another triangle next to the center one, repeat on the other side and then finish the last two triangles that are close to the top.
What are your thoughts on this suite? Thumbs up or down?
Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .
