Wow! The Friends Are Like Seashells suite is a such a great set! Since my husband loves to collect seashells, I knew this would be the perfect set to make his birthday card.
The Friends Are Like Seashells is a photopolymer set with 23 stamps – 8 greetings and 15 images. It’s a two step stamp as well as a Distinktive stamp. You can read more about Distinktive stamps here.
The Seaside Seashells has 6 dies and one of them is a large die that creates a background or you can cut the elements to be individual pieces. The stamp and die also coordinates with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder. Run the folder through your embossing/die cutting machine and then die cut with the die or you can do it the other way around as well, but I find it easier the first way.
Card Details
When I created this card it was the first time I used this set and I die cut the big die on Very Vanilla cardstock and started adding ink with my Blending Brushes. Although you could see the details from the shells, I wanted it a bit more pronounced and because I got some unwanted ink on one of the shells, I needed to cover the “mistake”. I also wanted it to look a little more masculine so I stamped one of the shells on Crumb Cake with Crumb Cake ink and Smoky Slate ink on Smoky Slate cardstock and placed them right over the ones in the die cut.
- Stamped sand dollar with Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla cardstock
- Starfish Bumble Bee cardstock with Bumble Bee ink and used white gel pen to make the dots.
- Sand & Sea DSP 3″ x 4″ (top half of card)
- Sahara Sand cardstock 2-1/4″ x 4″ (bottom half of card) stamped sand image with Sahara Sand ink
- Sentiment – Stitched Rectangles, Very Vanilla Cardstock stamped Happy Birthday from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp with Night of Navy ink
- Sentiment DSP layer 3-1/2″ x 1-/2″ – mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals
I would definitely recommend getting the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder when you get the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp and dies. It adds a whole new dimension.
