Hello Crafty Friends!
I’m back wtih a few creations using the Jar of Love stamp set and Everyday Jars Framelits Dies. This set is on the retiring list so before it’s gone, I thought it would be best to share with you some of the samples I’ve made in one blog post. If you enjoy stamping mason jars and flowers as much as I do, I would definitely recommend this set. Be warned…this is a pretty long post, but you’ll be glad you read through it.
For my first card I stamped the flowers and die cut them to create my flower arrangement. I used the following inks: Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Soft Suede, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and VersaMark (for embossing). I embossed my mason jar with white embossing powder on vellum cardstock. For my background, I used the Basketweave Dynamic Embossing Folder and did a little sponging. Instead of using the image for the water in the jar, I sponged the back of the vellum with Balmy Blue ink. Because you can see adhesive through vellum, I used the mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the corners of the jar to make it less noticeable.
For this second card, I stamped the mason jar onto a Pear Pizzazz cardstock and then stamped the small flowers with Old Olive to make a decorative jar. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners and the coordinating punch is the Duet Banner Punch (both retiring).
These first two cards take a little longer to assemble, but I absolutely love the result. They are not mass producing cards, but making one or two at a time is so worth it!
For my third card, I used the fish from the Jars of Love set and die cut them with the framelits. For my swirly background, I used the Marbled Background Stamp (retiring) inked with Coastal Cabana and used the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons. The fish were stamped with Mango Melody and Calypso Coral. I love this sentiment – everytime I see it, it reminds me to slow down and come up for air just like my fish is doing. It also reminds me of the song, Just Breathe (check out video below).
Two years ago, I made these cute battery operated tealight holders for my table at a Christmas Tea event at my church. I used the tutorial from Julie Pitta. Love it! The Merry Christmas was from the Better Together set (retiring) and mistletoe from the Pretty Pines Thinlits dies (retiring). The jars were gold embosssed.
For my last card, I stamped the mason jar without die cutting it, and stamped a candle in the opening of the jar. Once again, I used the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies. This is one of the cards that was made at my 2016 Christmas Card class.
