I had a nice weekend celebrating Mother’s Day with family. We took my mother-in-law out for lunch on Saturday and yesterday celebrated with my kids and grandchildren. It was also a bit emotional and bittersweet not having my mom around. It’s been a year since she passed away and I still miss her a lot. She was a great mom and full of joy despite all her physical ailments. I’m also thankful that I have a wonderful mother-in-law. Here’s the card I made for her using the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper. I love this paper! I think I said that before – it’s just gorgeous!
I love it when you can make a quick card and it comes out just the way you imagined. That’s the way I feel about this card. Everything on this card is a favorite of mine from the paper and the Lovely Floral Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder, the Mint Macaron lace ribbon that I still had in my stash because I couldn’t part with it and the Stitched Shapes Framelits with the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes (on the retiring list). I added a few Artisan Pearls to the flowers, cut out one of the flowers and leaves from the paper and popped it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Since I didn’t want to take away from the beautiful paper and embossing, I added a small sentiment and sponged around it to give it some depth.
You can also make this card using the supplies below. The lace ribbon is no longer available but you can switch it out with another ribbon and change the sentiment from Mother’s Day to whatever occasion you’re celebrating. I think the Share What You Love bundle is a must have for your collection!
