Today’s birthday card was made using the Flower Shop stamp and the new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. I hadn’t used this set for a while and I thought it was time to ink it up. After stamping the flowers, I wanted to make them a bit whimsical so I added the dots image from the Birthday Blooms set.
The choice of my colors came from playing along at the Color Throwdown Challenge CTD418. Once in a while when I have time, I like playing with challenges as it stretches you. I don’t think I would’ve used these colors together, yet I think they look great together.
I absolutely LOVE the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and they layer perfectly with the Layering Circles, Ovals and Square dies. One other new and coming soon product that I used was watercolor pencils to color the Bermuda Bay flower. Stampin’ Up! has had color pencils in the past, but they were not the same as the color collections. This time, we will have all the colors in the Brights collection. I smoothed out the color with my blender pen so you don’t see the streaks that you sometimes get from coloring with pencils or markers.
So what do you think of this Flower Shop birthday card? Which feature do you like the best – layout, colors, stamp, accessories? Leave a comment below, I would love to hear from you.
