Today’s card features Garden in Bloom which is another favorite stamp set of mine. I needed an encouragement card and I thought this was the perfect sentiment . . . “Hope you’re feeling special because that’s just what you are”.
I stamped off some of the flowers, embossed the flowers on the vellum paper with Gold Embossing Powder and tied 3 Burlap strands from the Burlap Ribbon. Simple & elegant – don’t you think?
I got my color & design inspiration from the English Garden Designer Series Paper. I really liked the Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Hello Honey color combo and design from one of the papers in the pack. Did you know that Stampin’ Up! lists all the colors that are used on each of the Designer Series Paper stacks? It’s a great place to go to for inspiration when you’re stuck on what colors to use for your project. Check out your own DSP stacks, the Annual Catalog on pages 142 – 144 or throughout the Occasions Catalog and create something with those color combos.
Did you notice that the Hearth & Home Thinlits is one of the items in this week’s deals – great one to get! It coordinates with the Happy Home stamp set or simply use it alone to make your own scene. Here’s one of the cards I made with it. Next week I’ll show you another one of the cards I made but combined it with another stamp. Can’t show it to you yet because the birthday person I made it for may see it here and I don’t want to spoil the surprise!
