Perfectly Preserved Sympathy Card

Here’s a sympathy card I made using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  I sponged Whisper White Craft Ink around the edge of the Sahara Sand cardstock and masked and sponged the inside of the mason jar to give it the look of water inside the jar.

Today marks the 11th anniversary of 9/11 which is always a tough one to remember.  So many people who lost loved ones in such a  senseless and tragic manner. I can’t even begin to imagine the deep hurt they experienced and continue to do so.  My deepest sympathy goes out to them. 

I remember vividly where I was the time the first plane hit the first tower.  I had just walked into my office at 9am, and my pastor was listening to the radio and asked me if I  had heard what just happened.  I had not and it was so hard to believe.  Although I did not lose a loved one in the World Trade Center tragedy,  I had just lost my father-in-law a couple of days right before 9/11 and early that 9/11 morning, my husband was heading to the airport to catch a plane and fly to where his dad passed away to make all the necessary arrangements.  On his way to the airport, he witnessed when the second plane struck the second tower and called me.  It’s a memory you will never forget.  He never got to fly out that day since all airport activity was shut down. 

It’s hard losing a loved one and these past two weeks I’ve had three friends who have lost a cousin, a mom and a dad.  My heart and prayers go out to them. 

For all who have lost loved ones, I pray for comfort and for a peace that passes all understanding.
