Your Friendship Feels Like Home & Sale-A-Bration Ending Soon

I haven’t posted in a while so before Sale-A-Bration ends on September 30, I thought I should share this card with you. I don’t want you to miss out on this stamp. The image is from the sweet Feels Like Home stamp set. If you love to color then you’ll like this set.

Sale-A-Bration

Before we get into the details of this card, let’s talk about Sale-A-Bration. For the first time this year, this event was held twice. Usually it occurs once at the beginning of the year, but this year it was held January – February and again August – September. If you’ve been around awhile, you know that when you make a $50 purchase or more (before tax & shipping), you can get a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

But did you know . . . if you join Stampin’ Up! and become part of my team during Sale-A-Bration you get to choose a bundle from the July – December catalog. That’s in addition to the items you select for your starter kit. The purchase of the kit is $99 with free shipping! Customize your kit in any way you like.

Did you know?

  • You don’t have to be a full time or even a part time demonstrator.
  • You don’t have to hold any parties, if that’s something you prefer not doing.
  • If all you want is the discount to support your hobby, then that’s not a problem.
  • If you realize after you join that it’s not for you, there’s no penalty to leave the team.
  • As a demonstrator, you get to see the new catalogs and pre order from them before anyone else.

Now onto today’s card . . .

Card Fold

The Feels Like Home stamp set consists of 3 images and 4 greetings and the best part is that it’s a free stamp from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I chose to stamp the biggest image from the set, but I’m looking forward to stamping the potted tulips.

When you get a set that has small images, do you notice them? Sometimes, we either don’t notice it or don’t use it. But let’s change that. I challenge you to look at all the small images in your stamps and come up with a design using them. You can use them as borders, a focal point, and in other ways.

Today’s card fold is called a book binding fold or side fold. All that means is that you seal the left side of the card so that your card opens like a book. You can make the left side as wide as you like. For this card, I started with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ card base and scored at 4″ and 5-1/2″. This will give you a 1-1/2″ section on the left side. To create this fold, place some strong adhesive between the 2 score lines (opening to the right) and seal.

Feels Like Home Card Details

  • Card base Crushed Curry, mat layer – Early Espresso
  • Strip on the left was embossed with the Macrame 3D Folder
  • Two 17″ Linen thread was used which was adhered with a glue dot
  • The image was stamped with Memento Black using my stamparatus to get a good impression
  • Image was stamped on a So Sweetly die cut
  • I used watercolor paper because I was planning to watercolor. However, since I stamped it with Memento Black ink, I used my Stampin’ Blends. Memento ink and water don’t go together.
  • Stampin Blends used: Polished Pink, Bronze, Soft Suede, Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Pale Papaya, Old Olive, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Color Lifter.

Take out your favorite coloring medium and do some coloring on a stamp image you haven’t used yet. You’ll find that It’s so relaxing.

Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .
