Have you ever had a day when you wish you could go back to bed and start all over? That’s the kind of day I had yesterday and it all started bright and early in the morning. I went outside to water my flowers and what do I see before my eyes? An entire bag that had all my cardstock pieces from my last class all over the street. The paper bag that I put out the night before for recycling tipped over and all the contents in the bag were scattered with the strong wind gusts that I didn’t know we were going to have. There were many small pieces, some punched out pieces, large pieces – all sizes. For a second, I thought we had a birthday parade with confetti and I missed it. I’m all for advertising my business, but I rather do it in a cleaner way that doesn’t require me going out to pick up all the pieces that went on to the neighbors’ lawns and in the middle of the street with the risk of a car hitting me during school rush hour.
And so other little things continued to develop during the day and I thought to myself, at least my Stampin’ Up! goodies will be delivered today and it will take my mind off other things . . . well that didn’t happen either! For some reason, UPS didn’t scan my order when it left the Stampin’ Up! distribution center so although it should’ve arrived yesterday just like one of my catalog boxes did, neither SU or myself know when it’s arriving, and if it will, because there’s no tracking available. I was told to wait until later today to see if it shows up and if it doesn’t then I need to call SU and they’ll ship out another order. That’s nice… except that I have an open house to prepare for next week and I need to use my new supplies NOW. So I guess I’ll just sit on my front steps and flag down every UPS truck that drives by in search of the missing package.
Thanks for letting me vent . . . let’s get on to today’s card.
In the midst of my ‘bad’ day yesterday, I decided to make a card that would lift my spirits and refocus so I used a stamp set you may not even know it’s still around – Banner Blessings. One of the sentiments from this set is In Everything Give Thanks. That helped me to focus and to give God thanks even in the craziness of a day.
Card Details
I embossed the sentiment with Gold embossing powder. I wanted something quick and easy and didn’t want any other images so I brought out my Aqua Painter and brushed the watercolor paper with just water and then began to add colors that are soothing to me. I die cut the sentiment with the Oval Framelits and adhered the panel with 2 stacked dimensionals on all corners and in the middle to raise it a little higher. Then I adhered the sentiment right on the card base so it’s pushed back. I added a few Gold Sequins and it was done. I was quite pleased with it – creating things brings a smile to my face.
