I’ve heard many say that they have a hard time coming up with masculine cards. Images such as trees, cars, tools, etc. can be used, but did you know that giving your cards texture and using ‘manly’ colors also makes a great masculine card?
Here’s a masculine card I made for my nephew who shares the same birth date as me. I was going to stamp a car from the Rev the Fun stamp set but decided to use only the image with the small dots. I stamped it all around the edge of the card base to make a frame by using Island Indigo and Chocolate Chip ink. I then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. I knew I wanted an opening for the sentiment so I designed the card around it. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits for my opening , and to add texture I embossed with two different embossing folders – Houndstooth & Stripes. The black brads are the mini silver brads which I colored with a black Sharpie.
Till next time . . . have a joyous day!
