Cards, Techniques & Tips

Simply Sketched

I love all the images & sentiments in the Simply Sketched hostess stamp set.  For this card I used the flower and one of the sentiments in the set.  I used two techniques on this card – the bubble wrap technique which consists of just any bubble wrap you have laying around the house or that you just got in the mail.  Simply ink it up with a brayer and place your cardstock on top and rub to get the bubble image onto the cardstock.  I didn’t really want a uniform look for this card so I inked up the bubble wrap and took it in my hand and stamped all over the cardstock free style.  The other technique I used was a dyed ribbon.  Did you know you could use your inkpad or reinkers to dye a ribbon the color you want?  I didn’t have a Coastal Cabana or Pistachio Pudding ribbon so I decided to make my 5/8″ Organza White Ribbon 2 tone by using both colors.  I’m happy with the way it came out.

This stamp set is a hostess set which means you host your own workshop with at least $150 worth of Stampin’ Up! products and you can get your own Simply Sketched stamp set or purchase $150 worth of products yourself and get this stamp through your rewards.  How cool is that?

I would love to hear what you think of these techniques . . . leave me a comment.
