Stampin’ Up! Flowers For Mom

Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

For Mother’s Day, I wanted something cheerful to brighten my mom’s hospital room and I figured everyone who came to visit would bring her lovely flowers but . . . they last for about a week.  So I decided to make her flowers that last for a long time along with this card.  

My original container plan was to paint a small clay pot and stamp it, but I came across this water can at a store and loved it. I started working on my flowers and finished the project late Saturday night into Sunday morning – tired but got it done!  I was glad to have my sister who was visiting add her touch by making the leaves in the background.

You probably noticed my wrinkled backdrop and if you didn’t . . .well now you do . . . I apologize for that! Please ignore the wrinkles and see the beauty created with Stampin’ Up! cardstock.

Are you wondering how I made them?  Some of the flowers were made by following this tutorial and my Gerbera Daisies were made with the Daisies retired Big Shot die.  You can see the other Gerbera Daisies I made to match my color scheme in my craft room here.  I used the 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and the Blossom Punch to create some of the flowers.  For the leaves I used the Blossom Petals Builder Punch. I sponged my flower ‘stems’ with Old Olive ink and the twig for the leaves with Chocolate Chip ink.  I really like the way it turned out.  What do you think of it?  Leave me a comment.
