Retiring Accessories … Simply Said

Perhaps you have had a chance to view the retiring list and it seems overwhelming.  Let me try to clarify any questions that may be crossing your mind…

You may have noticed that all the stampin’ inkpads are on the retired list – the colors are not being retired (except for the 2011-12 In Colors – Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade) they are being reconfigured (those with an * next to it). Stampin’ Up! will be introducing Firm Foam Pads in our classic ink colors.  This will provide better ink coverage which will provide better stamped images and remain juicier longer.  These new inkpads will be available on June 1 when the new catalog is launched.

  • Also… only select Stampin’ Write Markers will be available individually; Stampin’ Write Markers in color collections will continue to be offered. (If you’re missing any individual color from your collection, now would be a good time to get them since you  may have to buy the collection starting in June).
  • Craft Stampin’ pads will only be available in black and white only. Craft refills will be discontinued along with stampin’ spots.
  • 12×12 Textured Cardstock will no longer be offered and 12×12 Smooth color cardstock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections.
  • Five ink colors have undergone formula changes to improve functionality and color stability with the new firm foam pads. These colors are Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, and Tempting Turquoise. All five colors of the reformulated inks have been fully tested and approved. While using the new ink formula in the old Stampin’ Pads is fine, Stampin’ Up! does not recommend using the old ink formula in the new firm foam pads. Any refills purchased after April 30, 2012, will contain the new formulated ink.

Two items that were included on the Retiring Accessories List are not actually retiring. Stampin’ Up! has updated the lists to remove these items.

pg. 208#108360Craft Scissors
pg. 208#103579Paper Snips

Because these items were included in error, the Paper Snips will not be offered at a discounted price.

Remember accessories are available while supplies last.  Hope this clears any confusion.  Looking forward to the new items in the 2012-13 catalog!
