Baby Bear Double Z Fold Card

Today’s Double Z Fold card is one I made for my niece’s baby shower, using several stamp sets to create it. I first came across this fold from Jan B. and knew I wanted to make a baby card using this fun fold. I wanted my main focus on Baby Bear so I stamped him on the far right so he would be seen when the card is folded. I absolutely LOVE this bear. It looks so life like and you can stamp him in many different color combinations.

The set comes with 3 images to create the bear. I stamped the first 2 images with Crumb Cake ink and the last detailed image with Chocolate Chip ink. Because it’s a photopolymer stamp (transparent), it’s very easy to align the stamp.

Here’s the card opened. How cute is that?! Did you notice the Bermuda Bay cardstock strip embossed with the Festive Embossing Folder? It’s one of the items in the special offer promotion this week only – through September 7. The background on the panels was created with the Touches of Texture stamp set and the bottom of the 1st panel with one of the images from Sheltering Tree.

I adhered the strip to the card base with Tear and Tape adhesive on both ends because when someone gets a card like this, you don’t want it to fall apart. They will be fascinated by this type of card and will open and close it several times . . . I know because I saw it first hand from my nephew-in-law who thought it was cool.

When I create a card like this, I don’t like to write my message where it’s visible so I created a pocket where I could tuck a small cardstock with a note. I used tear and tape adhesive to secure the pocket, and I punched the panel with the 1/2″ circle punch to create a small notch so the message card can be removed easily.
