Touches of Texture Birthday

Hope you had a great 4th of July weekend celebrating the freedom we have in this country and remembering those who fought for it.

For today’s card, I used one of my top favorite stamps, Touches of Texture. This set has so many images that it comes in 2 separate cases. This is quickly becoming a go to stamp for creating collages and layering to add texture. See another card with this set.

I also used Thoughtful Banners for the popped up sentiment. Although I popped the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals, essentially this card is a one-layer card. Some people find one layer cards difficult to make, but I actually like to make them. Whether you fill up your card with images or create a clean and simple card with just a sentiment, one layer cards are fun to make.

I wanted the stem a little longer so I extended the bottom of the stem with the Old Olive marker. I left a small gap between the flower and the sentiment so the stem appears to be longer than what it is. The bottom flowers were colored with Blender Pens. If you look closely, you can see I stamped over the flowers with one of the longer images in Sahara Sand. This set is definitely a keeper and a must have for your stamp collection!

Your challenge for today is to create your own one-layer card. I would love to see it and would love for you to send me a picture of your creation.
