Today’s card makes me wish I were on an island. The lush greenery, the sweet pineapples, the sun – that would definitely brighten up my day! But back to reality . . .
If you need to make a quick, clean and simple card, this fits the bill. Cards don’t always need to have lots of layers. Clean and simple cards look great. I like these type of cards with uncluttered white space.
The images and sentiment are both from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. The Island Vibes is a Distinktive stamp set of 3 images – the pineapple, leaves and plant. The Special Moments stamp set doesn’t have images but has 21 all-occasion sentiments with different fonts and sizes.
Card Details
- Card Base is Crushed Curry cut at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″.
- White cardstock cut at 3-3/4″ x 5″.
- Leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.
- Sentiment from Special Moments was stamped with Blackberry Bliss.
- The top of the pineapple was stamped with Mossy Meadow and the bottom with Crushed Curry inks.
Before I stamped the pineapple, I masked the top 2 leaves near the pineapple and then stamped the pineapple. There was a small gap between the leaves and pineapple so I used a sponge dauber to sponge a bit of ink in that gap.
I stamped the plant on the inside layer with Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow.
