Hello Crafty Friends!
Today’s card features the adorable Joyful Life stamp set from the 2021 July – December mini catalog. It’s a simple set with no dies and some cute images.
The stamp set comes with 5 images – a hedgehog, bear, pig, and 2 other images along with 4 sentiments. Coloring the images do not take much time so you easily whip up a card in very little time.
Card Details
I started out with making a book binding card also known as a side panel fold card. The Petal Pink card base was cut at 4-1/4″ x 11 and scored at 4-1/4″ and 5-1/2″ to create the 1-1/4″ side panel.
Using liquid glue or tear & tape, adhere the 1-1/4″ side panel. This leaves you with a 4-1/4″ square to work with. This is what makes it a book binding card.
The bear was stamped with Memento Black ink onto Basic White cardstock that was die cut with the Scalloped Contours dies. The Stampin’ Blends used for the bear, bike and bunny were light & dark crumb cake, light cajun craze, dark Petal Pink and dark daffodil delight.
Daisy was stamped with Cajun Craze ink onto Mango Melody cardstock and punched with medium daisy punch. A mini stampin’ dimensional was placed between the two daisies and another one to ahere to card base.
The side panel cardstock is basic white inked with Cajun Craze and Mango Melody inks using the Blending Brushes. The leaves were stamped with Memento Black ink.
Notches were made with a small Stampin’ Up! retired punch to hold the linen thread in place but you can use any small circle punch you have or simply wrap the thread without the notches.
Because the sentiment is not a bold font, I wanted to make sure I got a good and dark impression so I used my Stamparatus and inked it with Cajun Craze a couple of times. I LOVE my Stamparatus. The Stamparatus is a time saver because you know your sentiment will always come out straight and you can get it as dark as you like. It’s perfect for mass producing!
