2020 was a year of many twists and turns! With all the extra time of staying at home, how much crafting did you do? You would think you have lots of time to craft, but it doesn’t always work out that way, does it? So here we are in 2021 and I say let’s get crafty again. Start by getting your supplies organized, making sure you have everything you need and then make something whether it be simple or you go all out!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but here I am again to share and hopefully inspire you. I know Christmas is over, even though all my decorations are still up. I usually don’t take them down before January 6 – that’s when I consider Christmas season is over. I never got to share the Christmas card I sent out this year so let me share it with you now.
I used three stamp sets – Cherish the Season, For Unto Us and Ornamental Envelopes and used Shaded Spruce as my card base, Whisper White for stamping and gold foil paper for the bottom strip. To color the bells, I used Stampin’ Blends. It took a while to color 120 cards but not being able to go anywhere I had plenty of time. For the first time since I’ve been making Christmas cards, I had them ready to go in October!
When I first saw the Cherish the Season stamps with the bells, I immediately knew I was going to use it for my Christmas cards with the idea that I wanted it to look like if it was on a mantle surrounded with greenery. What do you think? Did I accomplish that – does it look like it’s on a mantle? I alternated between two sentiments O Come Let Us Adore Him and For Unto Us A Child Is Born from the stamp set For Unto Us. The dots were from the Ornamental Envelope stamp. After I stamped the greenery on the bottom of the card, I sponged it to fill in. Unfortunately, I photographed these cards before I decided to apply some wink of stella to give it some added shine, but you get the picture.
