Today I want to share my review of the Tin of Tags Project Kit. This kit is a great tag kit to get for spreading holiday cheer or any other occasion. It comes in a cute printed red small tin that you can reuse for other purposes. The tags are easy to make since everything except the twine is already cut. There are red tassels, snowflake and bow wood embellishments, washi tape, silver and white baker’s twine, circle & star sequins, silver snowflakes doilies and printed tags – enough to make 30 tags and you’ll still have some leftover washi tape and sequins to create other things.
Here’s how it comes packaged in your kit.
One of the things that you need to be aware of is that the snowflake wood embellishment is delicate. When you are removing the snowflake die cut from the thin wood block you will need to be careful as one or more of the spokes can break. Because I didn’t read the warning that is printed in the instructions, the tip of one of my snowflake spokes did break off – I was careful with the other 2 and they were fine. They look great on the tag.
Everyone has their own way of doing things, but I’ll share the way I went about creating these tags. I removed all the printed tags, tassels and wood embellishments from the packaging and cut the 30 pieces of twine I needed. Once I did all that, I grouped the tags that were going to be inked in one particular color then I mounted the coordinating stamps for that color. I proceeded to stamp all my blues, yellows, green and reds separately so I didn’t have to have all my ink pads open and go back and fourth with the ink. (Not to mention the possibility of ruining them by touching one of the open ink pads!) I removed all the stamps I used and mounted the next set of stamps for the next color. If you have enough clear blocks to mount all your stamps, then do that instead of what I did. I matched the tags with the coordinating embellishments. After they were all stamped and embellishments adhered, I added the twine and now they were ready to be used.
The Tin of Tags Project kit comes with almost everything you need to complete the project. It does not however, come with glue dots or fine tip glue pen, ink pads and the coordinating Tin of Tags stamp set. Ink is no problem, since you can always use whatever coordinating color you have in your stash. I would recommend getting the coordinating stamp, however, you can also use whatever stamps you have that fit in the space to create your own unique tags.
You can create 30 tags with this kit. If you run out of gifts to put the tags on, save them for next year or hang them on your tree because they’re so pretty. You can also use some of them for occasions other than Christmas. Create all 30 tags and give them as a gift – all wrapped up in the red tin.
Overall, I enjoyed creating with this project kit that allows you to make quick tags.
