As much as I tried to stay ahead in my preparations, something else always popped up. Did you feel this way, too? Anyway, all got done, except being able to edit my pictures and post. So I will be sharing some of the gift cards and Christmas cards I made. You can use the ideas now or save them for next year.
Here’s a money holder using the Festival of Trees stamp set and the sentiment is from the Ornamental Pine set. To make the snow banks, I used the masking technique. For the inside of the card, I used the 1″ circle punch (going halfway with the punch) for the notch to make it easier to remove the money and stamped the snowman from the White Christmas set.
Since this card is not the standard size, I created my own matching envelope with the Envelope Punch Board. I highly recommend getting this tool! Why settle on standard size cards because you can’t get an envelope for it? Make any size card and create your own unique envelope.
I made another card the same size for a gift certificate. I used the White Christmas stamp set and made the same notch in the inside as the card above. I used the word bubble framelits to write the “uh-oh!”
Have You Ever. . .
made a card and just when you thought you’re done and go to set it aside, something happens to it–whether you get ink on it from your inky fingers, or drop it face down right after you put Dazzling Details Glitter on it?! I couldn’t believe I dropped it face down with the wet glitter, Ugh! So if you look closely you can see it’s not a straight line of glitter, but there was no way I was going to do this all over again. Since this card was not the last one on my list, and it still looked good, I left it as is. Would you have started all over again?
