Memorial Day was formerly known as Decoration Day originating after the American Civil War to honor the soldiers who died in the Civil War. Years later, the name was changed to Memorial Day to honor all the fallen soldiers who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
As we celebrate Memorial Day here in the United States, I want to express my appreciation and thank all who have fought to protect our country so that I may enjoy the freedom we have. I have a couple of family members who fought in earlier wars and have had the opportunity of hearing heart wrenching stories from dear friends who served their country and fought during World War II. They experienced and sacrificed so much for our country and I thank God for each of them. May I suggest you lift a prayer for the families of those who have lost loved ones.
A card of thanks to those who served or are currently serving our country would definitely be appreciated. Stampin’ Up! has 2 patriotic stamps that honor those who served our country, however, these stamps will be retiring on May 31 so if you want to get it be sure to visit my online store to place your order.
