Happy Celebrations

You probably want to see some new stuff, but, unfortunately, not today….instead I’m sharing with you a discovery I made using the Happy Celebrations stamp set and Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder. Today’s post has a couple of retired items (color & embossing folder) because I made this card back in March, but most of it is still current.

Happy Celebrations

I started out with the idea of making one card but wound up with two and used the same layout for 2 quick cards. Here’s how . . .I embossed my white cardstock with the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder, I inked the grunge image and stamped it over the H in Happy with the Dapper Denim ink. I then stamped on my grid paper to see how the color would look stamped off and to my surprise that’s when I discovered that when I stamped over the H, it left an impression on my stamp. I was thrilled about this new discovery (insert happy dance) so when I messed up the original (yes, that happens to me, too) I decided to start over and use the stamped off image for a second card. It’s not debossed but it’s stamped and looks great plus saves time in making a 2nd card! Now isn’t that cool? I think so.

Happy Celebrations

I used the Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder for the first card. For the second card I used the retired Falling Petals Embossing Folder. All the colors are current except for Tip Top Taupe which was the base for the card.

Maybe others already knew of my little discovery, but I didn’t know so to me it’s new! That’s what happens when you experiment when your stamping, you never know what you’re going to get…this sounds like a Forrest Gump quote lol.

Try New Things

Now why is it that sometimes we’re afraid to mess up and don’t explore different ways of doing things with the tools we have or perhaps we don’t want to waste paper? Here’s what I do when I’m not sure about a layout, I use copy paper and when I’m satisfied then I stamp it on my good Stampin’ Up! paper.

I hope to have some projects with new stuff soon. I didn’t get a chance to play with my pre-order items and now I’m waiting on the order I placed when the catalog went live.

Have you discovered anything new when creating? Leave me a comment below and let me know.

Thanks for stopping by . . . have a blessed day . . . till next time . . . Brunie
