Here’s a card I made for my niece who was celebrating her 4th birthday. I wanted a little girl with big balloons so I grabbed my retired All in the Family stamp set for the girl. The balloons are from Celebrate Today and Balloon Celebration. The 4 was die cut with the Large Numbers Framelits and Birthday Bouquet DSP.
I added some of my favorite clear Wink of Stella glitter to the balloons. I wanted the little girl to be on a platform, after all, it is her big day so I stamped the basket from the Celebrate Today stamp upside down to create the platform and it was adorable. Yep, it was. . . .that’s the key word. You’re probably asking, where is it? It’s hidden behind the black confetti washi tape from the It’s My Party pack. Here’s why…when I went to adhere my cardstock to the base, the black ink smeared, so I thought maybe I could hide the smear by adding a couple of more baskets to make a bigger platform….that did not work. My platform became wider, but not prettier. There was no way I was going to recreate this card so I adhered the washi tape over it and covered the wide ugly smeared platform. I think the washi tape worked perfectly, don’t you? So remember when you make a mistake, many times you can cover it with an embellishment or as I did with dark Washi Tape.
