The Timeless Talk stamp had the perfect sentiment image for the card I made for my pastor’s 50th birthday. I didn’t have a guitar image so I decided to try to make my own guitar that resembled his flaming red one. I used my Simply Scored Tool to score the fret and then went over the scored lines and decorative swirls with my Uniball White Gel Pen. I traced one of my own guitar picks to make one and embossed the 50 with gold embossing powder.
I colored mini silver brads with a black sharpie and embossed Whisper White cardstock with gold embossing powder. For the center opening, I used the Circle Framelits and stamped the sentiment from the Timeless Talk in the center embossed with gold embossing powder. When you open the card the sentiment is inside.
The gold string is from a craft store. I wanted to get a marble effect for the center ring, so I used the Shaving Cream Technique.
Shaving Cream Technique
Here’s what you need for the shaving cream technique:
- a shallow plate, foamy shaving cream (I use the men’s shaving cream – nothing expensive)
- 2 – 3 reinkers any color that compliment each other
- Whisper White cardstock
- a spatula or plastic spoon
- paper towels
Spread shaving cream on a plate to cover most of it and drop several drops of the 2 – 3 different reinker colors randomly on top of shaving cream. With the spatula, mix the reinkers and shaving cream in a swirling motion. Keep swirling until you’re satisfied with the design without the colors getting muddy. Place your cardstock on top of the shaving cream and press down a bit to make sure your entire cardstock is completely covered on the front. Pull the cardstock out of the shaving cream and wipe off the excess cream with a paper towel. Let it dry and use as desired. Drying time does not take too long.
